Once a quarter, Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management and Dun & Bradstreet poll small and medium-sized businesses across the nation to learn more about those companies growth and access to capital.Overall, the Q3 2016 Index findings revealed that small businesses are scrambling to secure working capital.
Florida Small Businesses are Out-paced by Rest of Nation
- Florida small businesses appear to be suffering compared to the rest of the nation: Of those who applied for a bank loan in Q2 2016, only 32% received one, compared to 36% nationally.
- However, in the next six months, 70% of Florida small businesses surveyed are planning to hire, and 60% are in need of financing due to planned growth. Both of these numbers are above the national averages, 61% and 59% respectively.
